Michel Batista is the company director of Subsonic Designs in South Africa specialising in building and room acoustics, environmental, mechanical services and industrial noise control. He graduated from the University of Derby with a Distinction in Masters in Science (Applied Acoustics) and has more than 17 years of experience in consulting acoustics.
Michel has been involvement in a wide range of projects including auditoriums, education, and hospitality, commercial, industrial, transport and infrastructure. He has provided expert advice, both for individual parties and as a joint expert, in matters relating to building acoustics and environmental acoustics. Furthermore, Michel Batista is also a member of the 2022 WELL Sound Concept Advisory board.
A career highlight of Michel Batista was presenting to the Institute of Acoustics in the UK his research findings on open-plan office acoustics.
